This is a big year for us, we plan to get married in September and we would very much like you to attend. The official invites will be along shortly, this is just a save-the-date. Please attach it to your fridge as its magnetised!

Although we will get legally married in the UK beforehand, we plan to have a blessing and celebration in Mallorca on Sunday 25th September 2016.

The venue is a golf club close to Alcudia, a part of Mallorca that is very dear to us, http://www.golf-alcanada.com/en/

Unfortunately numbers are limited so if you know that you will not be able to attend please let us know as soon as possible as it will allow us to extend invites to those we have been unable to include at this point. We would, of course love you to be there but fully understand if you are not able, for whatever reason, to join us on our special day.

Alcudia

Alcudia is in the north east of the island and has a main port (port d'Alcudia) Most of the hotels are located along the 14 km long beach that stretches all the way from Port d'Alcúdia to Can Picafort.

The old harbour of Puerto de Alcúdia had developed and several regulations were put in place to secure the quality of the resort. The focus is on visitors searching for both relaxation and activity. A golf course has been constructed and both bicycle and hiking trips are commonplace. The old town has been preserved and pedestrianized. It has now become one of the most visited villages in Majorca.

The old town hosts a market on Sundays and Tuesday and there are some fabulous restaurants and bistros and well worth a visit in the evening as well For those who wish to go further afield there are beautiful places to visit all across the island.

Flights to the Island go into Palma and then (depending on if you go by taxi or arrange bus transportation from the airport) will take anything from 40 mins to 1.5 hours. A taxi costs about €60. Bus transportation from the airport cost will vary - see link below for hoppa transport from the airport

The ceremony will take place about 4/5 kilometres from the port d'Alcudia and will cost about €7 euros by taxi from the port

We have booked to stay in the Ivory Playa and this is about 4 kilometres from the port going towards Can Picafort

There are other hotels between the Ivory Playa and the port which might be worth looking at depending on your budget.

Ones we have stayed in previously are Viva Tropic, El Lago, Sol alcudia apartamento and the Ivory Playa. Another nice hotel is the Iberostar which is close to the port.

Condesa De La Bahia is an all-inclusive for those of you who feel this might suit your needs better and has had good reviews For those more adventurous there are families which hire out rooms or annexes on their properties

The lovely thing about Alcudia is there are straight roads out of the port which also have separate side roads so hiring a bike is a great idea as it’s a really easy way to get around. Taxis are not expensive either and there are bus services that run between the port and Can Picafort which are very regular.

Alternatively there are lots of hire car places which you can normally book via your hotel

If you are looking for day trips then there is plenty to do and hotels will normally organise this for you Would recommend a day trip to Palma to see the Cathedral of lights and also some good shopping.

We would not recommend BelleVue as it can be a little crowded and is a very large complex which might not suit all as its one of the more lively spots to stay in
